This time we are looking at the failure of the 2.0t TSI Positive Crankcase Vent Valve, or PCV. This is a part that can cause some crazy things to happen. PCV used to be a simple little valve that was replaced at maintenance intervals. Now it is a complex assembly. Today’s show is sponsored by Deutsche Auto Parts. hi, i have a caddy 1.6 tdi with EGR fault (when the fault indication light turned on i called RAC their diagnostic tool showed EGR valve frailer). The so called “fix” is no applied to the van yet. contacted VW on the phone they say it is not there problem and we have to pay for the repairs. i have not contacted the dealer ship yet. what P01012 000 - Signal too low. other than the engine management light the car runs absolutely fine. I probed the MAF plug and here are the results for a 5 pin BOSCH. plug. Engine off. Pin 01 - empty. Pin 02 - 0.05v. Pin 03 - battery voltage (fine) Re: Audi A5 B9 2.0 Ultra EGR Valve Cleaning – 28-07-2022, 11:08 PM. Just to avoid causing any confusion, the photo I uploaded in post #3 is not the EGR valve. The EGR valve and cooler are located on the lower left rear side of the engine. The side of the valve can been seen looking through the gap here: Capture.jpg. shawng. In reality all diesels have issues with EGR. Picture pumping sticky gooey carbon filled, very hot exhaust through a valve with very close tolerances. There is nothing happy about the whole thing. If the valve doesn't fail, the cooler will eventually clog up and require cleaning or replacement. Labor rates, typically ~$100/hour, would likely be less for Volkswagen and the automaker would only reimburse dealers for the completion time detailed in the recall order. Any sort of recall repair work and would need to be weighed against the cost for VW to buy back its own cars, which for a 2009 Jetta TDI, starts at about $7,000. Share. Print. The EGR valve feeds part of your engine’s exhaust fumes back into the combustion system, reducing the amount of clean air it needs to do the same job. In turn, this reduces the operating temperature as most of the gas it feeds back is carbon dioxide, and that doesn’t burn. Apparently a few engine complete destructions were caused by EGR failure injecting coolant straight into the engine. even happen to a an erly review of the t6.
